Mozilla proposes new home tab page for Firefox

Alex Faaborg, the principal designer of Firefox in his blog post, proposed a new design  for Firefox Home tab.

The most significant part of this design is that, Home tab as I shown you earlier, does not show you just a google's search page for Firefox.  Instead it acts as a one stop for all your needs.  Whether you search in Google, or spend time in your favorite sites like Twitter or Facebook, you can do it now easily now using Home tab.

As Alex said, it is not a revolutionary idea.  It is just like iGoogle layout. Take a look at the screenshot below

This is a good concept in the field of browsers and if they implement this, it will act as a dashboard for all your browsing needs.

As I said to you earlier,  I expected this Home tab feature in Firefox5, but still not implemented.  I will be glad if they implement this home tab in either Firefox 7 or 8.  What about you?
